Founding DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer
Ensue is building the shared memory layer for AI agents. As agents scale, coordination and context - not models - become the bottleneck. We're building the infrastructure that lets agents share memory safely, selectively, and in real time.
This is day-zero work. You'll be part of the founding team and help design, build, and operate the systems that everything else depends on.
What you'll do
- Design and operate core infrastructure (cloud, networking, CI/CD, observability).
- Build reliable, scalable systems to support memory services and real-time events.
- Own deployments, uptime, incident response, and performance.
- Set up and evolve monitoring, logging, alerting, and on-call practices.
- Partner closely with product and backend engineers on system design.
- Use AI tools daily to automate, debug, and improve infrastructure workflows.
- Make early decisions that define how Ensue runs in production.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years operating production infrastructure.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps tooling.
- Comfort with distributed systems, scaling, and failure modes.
- Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset.
- Able to move fast without breaking everything.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting AI, data, or real-time systems.
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.).
- Security or compliance experience at early-stage startups.
- Open-source or public technical work.
Why Ensue
- Founding-team role with real ownership.
- Work on foundational AI infrastructure.
- Small team, minimal process, high trust.
- Competitive comp and meaningful equity.
Bonus
If this resonates, DM one of the founders on X with: what you've built or operated, why Ensue, and a link to your work (GitHub, blog, incident write-up, or system you've run). We read every message.
