Founding Engineer

About the role

Ensue is building coordinated agent swarms for inference and model optimization. As ML teams scale, coordination and context — not models — become the bottleneck. We're building the infrastructure that lets agent swarms run thousands of experiments in parallel and ship better models in days, not months.

This is day-zero work. You'll be part of the founding team and help define the product, architecture, and engineering culture from the start.

What you'll do

• Build core systems: APIs, memory services, eventing, permissions.
• Make early architectural decisions with long-term impact.
• Work across the stack (mostly backend/infra; frontend as needed).
• Take ideas from zero to production quickly.
• Use AI tools daily to design, code, test, and debug.
• Work directly with the founders on technical and product direction.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years shipping real software.
• Strong generalist; not afraid of ambiguity.
• Solid backend and systems experience.
• Product-minded, pragmatic, and fast.
• Comfortable owning things end-to-end.

Nice to have

• AI, agent, or infra experience.
• Early-stage startup or founding-team background.
• Open-source or public technical work.
